Many of us have used braces or aligners in our lives. When using orthodontic apparatus such as braces (also known as retainers) then a new oral hygiene routine will be required. This includes brushing and flossing around your wire frames with specifically sized interdental brushes or by using a water flosser such as Waterpik. Wearing wire braces may cause discomfort in some instances. For example, the frames may rub against your inner cheek causing chaffing. You may also experience dry mouth syndrome. We have a solution for both of these complaints. Waxing the braces greatly assists with friction against inner cheeks.
